He actually said “economic growth!”

After ignoring the phrase during the entire 2-year election cycle, President-elect Obama finally said we need “economic growth” at a press conference yesterday where he introduced his team of advisers. The appointments themselves are mostly reasonable and include one veteran of the Bush administration. I’m not willing to say at this point that Obama will be a pro-growth president, but it isn’t looking all bad now. It is too early to tell, but I still believe he has the wrong instincts and will revert to taxing and spending once the crisis abates. At least he has finally said some things to reassure the market and it has responded with some incredible gains.

    People who are hyper paranoid about Obama’s policies and principles will eat crow when the United States realizes that economic recovery is on the horizon.
