Obama and Swift Boats
Obama claims to abhor the “swift boat” tactics and even has compared the effective and accurate “celebrity” ad to the 2004 anti-Kerry ads. In reality, there is no similarity. For one John McCain himself appears in these ads to express his endorsement. Secondly, the add directly attacks the character flaws of Obama, particularly his extreme narcissism. The latest pro-Obama 527 group, ironically called “Brave New PAC, has actually adopted true “swift boat” tactics by having a soldier that served with McCain attack him on behalf of Obama, while Obama technically doesn’t get his hands dirty. It also attempts to create the illusion that veterans can vote for Obama over McCain.
The sad part of this saga, is that Obama thinks he can justify these tactics based on 2004. While I personally did not like the original Swift Boat campaign, I felt that the men behind it were motivated by their disgust with John Kerry for his anti-military tirades during his years as a “Veteran Against the War. McCain is not like John Kerry because he never stooped to treason-like actions, as did John Kerry.
As usual NPR sheds light in the darkness. Listen to the story and note the connection between the Brave New PAC and the Obama campaign. Obama, you are truly a snake, a slimy hypocritical piece a dung sucking, reptilian allergic to the light of reason.
