The inanity and the insanity!
The parts of the DNC committee that I have seen have been largely lifeless and dull. The first two days were full of redundant and stale speeches by various politicos and they largely failed to energize the crowd. However, Denis Kucinich (The gadfly Vegan UFO fetishist) really got the faithful riled up. Here’s an excerpt from his speech:
Wake up, America! The insurance companies took over healthcare. Wake up, America!
The pharmaceutical companies took over drug pricing. Wake up, America! The speculators took over Wall Street. Wake up, America! They want your Social Security. Wake up, America! Multinational corporations took over our trade policies. Factories are closing. Good paying jobs are being lost.Wake up, America! We went into Iraq for oil. The oil companies want more. War against Iran will mean $10-a-gallon gasoline. The oil administration, they want to drill more, into your wallet. Wake up, America! Contractors want more. Those war contractorswant more. An Iran war will cost $5 to $10 trillion.
There you have it; a logic and facts free tirade, perfectly tailored to a Dumbocratic audience. The biggest crowd pleaser of the convention so far. Now, I understand that Barack Obama himself actually read this speech before hand and censored a few remarks that would have turned off key constituencies. I wonder what those sections said! Still BO and his people allowed this drivel from a low ranking, Congressman to appear in prime time, while actually denying a slot for former President Jimmy Carter. Again, it is easy to understand what’s going on here. Will the news reporters get on the story? Nope. That’s why I’m blogging. Wake up America!
