The Biden Selection-Fatal Final Blow for Obama

I was thrilled with Obama’s selection of Joe Biden as a running mate.  It all but guarantees a defeat for the Dems this November.  Biden brings tons of baggage including his own plagiarism scandal and plenty of public statements harshly critical of Obama’s inexperience.  Joe Biden is also the consummate shifty insider politician that doesn’t represent change.  On top of that both are Senators at a time when the US Congress has its lowest approval rating ever!  I could say many things about Biden, but I think the most important facts are his votes on the first and second Iraq war.  He actually voted against the first Gulf war which was less controversial, but for the more recent war.  Americans will rightly question his supposed security expertise with that unexplainable shift in position.

I’m going to relax a lot more now and watch the convention, which will surely call attention to the weakness of the ticket and the Democratic party at this time.  The issues will at first be about the tension with the Clinton campaign and the roll call vote, than shift to Michelle Obama attempting to allay concerns about herself and then Biden and Obama trying to explain how two Senators represent the kind of change American wants.  It’s all looking good right now for an Obama defeat.  I can’t imagine much of an convention bounce.
