Who’s questioning Obama’s patriotism?

I find it strange that Barack Obama’s main defense against McCain seems to be “How dare you question my patriotism.” Who but Obama is questioning his patriotism? Only a few people that keep obsessing about the absence of that ‘old glory’ lapel pin, but otherwise the attacks against Obama have to do with his fitness for office, not his patriotism. Obama loves his country. Why wouldn’t he? He hasn’t worked all that hard, hasn’t accomplished much and he’s now the leader of his party and worth quite a bit of money from his book deals. America is the land of milk and honey and Obama is a great beneficiary of this society. If only he would understand why America is great. He doesn’t appreciate free markets or the basic principles of American society such as private property and rugged individualism, but that doesn’t make him unpatriotic. John McCain didn’t call him unpatriotic. He just said that Obama was wrong about the surge and that he put political calculation above winning the war. Fair charges, though I believe Obama is sincerely an anti-war politician and that political calculations didn’t determine his stance on Iraq.

Until now, I never fully believed that “Patriotism is the last refuge of the incompetent scoundrel,” but I think Obama’s petty whining about the negative attacks against him are proof of the old adage.

Yeah, Obama probably hasn’t worked very hard for anything … but he’s image-focused, internet-savvy, good looking, vacuous and vain. This is what Aamerica loves! thank you FOX (and others) for programming us so diligently!

If he wins, we get what we deserve. If Mccain wins, we deserved a mediocre nice guy who was once a PoW who came bottom of his military academy.

The American people could really use some education and general improvement (don’t even start me on that one). Obama is not going to do that, neither is McCain.

So why worry about it, Mr. OIAC? You’ll only get ulcers, high BP and arthritis. Fix what you can fix and leave the rest.
