Obama immune to reason
In this basically flattering article in the New York Times the reporter recalls Obama’s days as a professor at the University of Chicago, a very free-market, conservative kind of place. Obama was a popular instructor because of his teaching style and charisma, but it also mentions that he was immune to the campus culture of free-market conservatism. Few of the conservative professors had any relationship with Obama, and the article emphasized that Obama’s groupies were the more left-leaning students on campus who enjoyed the classroom diversions into racial and identity politics. So, in short, Obama had a chance to become enlightened through his time at the University of Chicago, but he blew it by being a self-involved narcissus. Even the NY Times concedes that Obama exhibited his great love for himself back then. Keep in mind, this is published by an Obama-friendly newspaper!
