Obama is an Old-style Democrat
First a confession. The title of this blog is a little misleading. I never actually believed that Obama is literally a communist, but one who has left-wing sympathies that have communist elements to them. The more I process information about Obama, the more I realize that he is an old-school anti-business Democrat. The Clintons, with their faults, are truly new Democrats that are pro-business. Obama in contrast has made many public statements critical of specific American businesses such as Wal-Mart or entire industries, such as in this speech last year. In a commencement speech Obama even told graduates not to pursue careers in business, but to work for “collective salvation.” This rhetoric is, if not communist, is reminiscent of New Deal rhetoric from Democrats from FDR all the way into the 1980’s. Bill Clinton broke from this approach and even John Kerry didn’t go back to it, but Obama has brought the Democrats back into the anti-business camp.
Surely with the economy the way it is, Obama may have more appeal. However, I do believe that if we expose Obama for his many anti-business tirades of recent years, a majority of Americans will not trust this man to improve the Nation’s economy.
